FUOCH ERIOED YN LLE MAE O I GYD YN CYCHWYN? HAVE YOU BEEN TO WHERE IT ALL BEGINS?
Gadewch i ni ddechrau ar y dechrau: ar sbwng, lle mae ein dŵr yn dechrau ei daith araf trwy’r dyffryn i’r cefnfor, ac allan i’r ehangder o bosibiliadau diddiwedd…Ewch am dro o amgylch Llyn Conwy i gyraedd ein Tŷ Dechrau: Ymchwiliwch, gorffwyswch, ac agorwch y bocs i ystyried sut fydd y dyfodol yn debygol o edrych yn y dyffryn hwn.
Let's begin at the beginning: on a collective sponge, where our water starts its slow passage through the valley to the ocean, and out into the wide expanse of possibilities... Take a walk around Llyn Conwy to arrive at Tŷ Dechrau: explore, rest, open the box, and consider what the future might hold for the valley. This is a self-guided, waymarked 2.5 mile walk you can take any time, with a friend or whoever you meet on the journey. (map at the bottom of the page)
Tŷ Dechrau (House at the Beginning) is a space for reflection and an invitation to consider the future of the Conwy Valley during a journey to the source of the river.
It offers a walk across the evocative and climate-sensitive landscape of the Migneint, an area of spagnum bog high in the mountains and the beginning of the water that flows down the valley. On arrival at the house, walkers can open the box to discover a series of provocations connected to found objects from different stages of the Conwy River, and an invitation to spend time and conversation together in this place so far removed from day to day life, and yet so deeply connected to life itself.
Should you choose to wander further down the valley you may encounter further provocations at crossing places on the river. Stop a while to reflect on what they ask you in this place, this confluence, between source and sea, between people and places.
