A Peter Rabbit Tale took a modern approach to the traditional Peter Rabbit story, setting the scene in an open but semi derelict play space, with the leaning trees of the forest creating angles reminiscent of a forbidden industrial space, and the characters depicted as children playing dress up as the different animals in modern outfits tweaked to how a child’s imagination might design an owl or a punk rock hedgehog. Hidden within the grass were various trap doors and secret entrances, transforming a blank canvas into a world of possibility and surprise where the performers could make full use of the space to play.
